So lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about friends. Many people say that little bits of one’s self can be seen in the friends that a man keeps. Friends go through highs and lows, good times and bad, are close and far away; some friendships, don’t make it….But at the end of the day the one’s who are left, well, they are the real thing. The one’s who can weather the storm, put it all out there on the line for someone else, knowing they could lose it all, even other friends, well, count your blessings if you know what I’m talking about. For me I have to say to some of my closest friends (I think u know who you are) We’ve seen each other at our best, and our worst, and still we are friends. Many question the logic of staying for the bad, but friendship isn’t logical, nor is it chance. It is love (something everyone knows is far from logical), and it is pain, good days and bad and without it we couldn’t survive. That is why God grants us friends, even when our time in this world is short, for He is the ultimate friend: always there, waiting to catch us when we fall. Because we will fall, over and over again. So to those friends who are here for the ride, thank you…and hold on tight, the next waves going to be a big one….
Oh and…if you should ever find your best friend in a jail cell, incarcerated for terrorizing police officers with tales of free donut specials well, make sure you are sitting right next to them, eating some Krispy Kreme. To the good life!
