Empty Seats

As I sit and watch our public representatives and politicians grill the leaders of the Big Three automakers, I am appalled and ashamed to see that on the eve of one of this country’s most important decisions, the congress sits with many seats open.  Granted they are being interrogated by a committee, but one would think, in this season of “change” that these people, whose country elected them to represent their interests, would have shown some sign of fear or discontent for our economy’s future, as our time slowly ticks away and the days to make an impact, fade.  This once again proves that for all the talk, the desire to change, and the actual act of making a change are two different things.  The congress has forgotten something…what they think, doesn’t matter.  They are representatives, not rulers, employees of the people, not employers.  Our founding fathers would be ashamed and fearful of the “progress” we have made since this country’s founding.  Most will say, “you can’t say that, you don’t know them.”  Fortunately for me, I don’t have too, they left me a message…called the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights!

  1. Bailout…..lamest idea ever if you ask me. If I went to vegas and gambled away my money would the government give me my money back? No.

It is the car companies faults for not changing their line to adjust with what is in demand and their fault for not building decent cars. Interesting how the Japanese manufacturers keep doing better and better. They build good, reliable, fuel efficient cars for a good price. Its no small wonder they hold their value so well.

I agree with you that our founding fathers would be ashamed of our country. They were no nonsense guys who got things done. Now, all we have is politics. Quite lame. It all is just a popularity contest with who the media supports the most.
